EIR Spotlight: Michael Magdich

Michael Magdich is an Expert in Residence for the Industry 4.0 Accelerator in Michigan. For over 25 years he has held roles growing business, launching new divisions, establishing start-ups/carve-outs, and diversifying the customer base in some of the most competitive global markets. He started his career on manufacturing floors in Japan where he learned and applied lean practices, TPS and TPM. Prior to working as an Expert in Residence, Michael served as Global Vice President at Lydall Thermal and Acoustical Solutions, Global Vice President, Light Vehicle Coatings at Axalta Coatings Systems, Board Member for Axalta Shinto Coating Systems, and a number of positions at Guardian Industries leading segments supplying the automotive industry. In addition, at Guardian Industries Michael launched the solar glass business for utility-scale solar thermal power plants. For the accelerator with our portfolio of innovative companies, Michael has focused on building strategic plans, commercializing new technology, and filling leadership gaps. Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Northern Illinois University, and a Master of Arts in Contemporary Japan with an emphasis on Economics from Essex University, United Kingdom and Ehime University, Japan. He is a life-long learner and has attended the Executive Education, Finance program at Northwestern University the Kellogg School of Business. Michael has strengthened his leadership capabilities by attending the Center for Creative Leadership and The Disney Institute.
